Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sony Chiba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deckard Nishu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sony Chiba! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Deckard Nishu! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Ben Zyskovitsi and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nishu shoots in for a takedown but Chiba shows good takedown defense. Chiba throws a one two combo.
Chiba throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Chiba scores with a jab. Nishu acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Nishu on the wrong end of a nice jab. Chiba keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Chiba fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Chiba keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Nishu has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Chiba plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Danga de danga de dang - Chiba scores with a four punch combination! Chiba feints and then cracks Nishu's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Nishu down. Chiba lands a really nice looking cross but Nishu seems unphased.
Chiba lets loose with a powerful body kick. Nishu will feel that in the morning. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nishu with a lazy takedown attempt and Chiba counters with a nice uppercut. Sony Chiba has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Deckard Nishu. Chiba scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chiba slaps away a takedown attempt from Nishu, before circling back to the center of the mat. Chiba works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Chiba scores with a punch to the head. Chiba throws a leg kick which misses Nishu's front leg but catches the back leg as Nishu tries to avoid it. Nishu closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Chiba to the mat! Chiba manages to get full guard. Chiba keeping moving, preventing Nishu from controlling successfully. Nishu tries to free his leg and advance position but Chiba is retaining full guard. Nishu missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Nishu trying to control the position from guard on top but Chiba is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Chiba throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nishu is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Chiba keeping full guard, as Nishu tries to pass. Nishu passes Chiba's left leg - he's now in half guard. Nishu trying to control from half guard but Chiba is working away. Nishu is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Chiba is just riding it out for now. Nishu eventually gives up the hold. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nishu is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Chiba has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nishu looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Nishu in particular looking to stall. Chiba is looking to control Nishu's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Chiba avoid being mounted?
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nishu trying to control from half guard but Chiba is working away. Chiba knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nishu on the ground. Nishu is trying to work for a kimura but Chiba is defending well.
Nishu seems to be looking for submissions.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nishu wants to free his trapped foot but Chiba is holding on for dear life with his legs. Nishu in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Chiba tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Nishu!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Deckard Nishu!
