Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Pain! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tekito Tumoko! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Sano and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pain swats away the attempt to clinch by Tumoko. Pain shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Pain was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pain remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Pain working the ground and pound but Tumoko is defending the strikes. Pain landing strikes. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pain controlling from side mount.

Tumoko is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Pain lands a few punches from side control. The crowd are loving this. Pain postures up in Tumoko's guard and throws a big left but Tumoko blocks it. Pain throwing strikes from guard but Tumoko blocks nicely. Pain content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Pain seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Tumoko for as long as he can get away with. Pain lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Tumoko is rocked! Pain frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pain scoring with strikes but Tumoko is staying in there. Tumoko is still in real trouble! Can Pain finish him? Pain drops a big elbow. That's hurt Tumoko! More shots from Pain and the ref steps in!
