Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Daniel Vergara! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, John Moore! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Aleksandr Martynov and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vergara shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Moore counters with a nice kick to the body. Vergara throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Moore. Vergara fails with an attempt to clinch.
Vergara tries to clinch up. Moore keeps the fight on the outside. Moore moves out of range of the strikes. Vergara tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Vergara throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Vergara tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Moore was well out of range. Poor timing from Vergara. Vergara has a takedown stuffed.

No luck for Vergara with that takedown attempt. Vergara ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Moore moves away. Vergara tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Vergara looks to score with a jab to the body but Moore is just out of range. Moore takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Vergara fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Moore.

John Moore is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Moore stuffs the takedown. Vergara is breathing heavily. Vergara shoots in looking for a takedown but Moore manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Vergara's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Vergara misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Vergara motions for Moore to come forward. Vergara throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Vergara wants to clinch. Nice body punch from Vergara.

Moore checks a low kick from Vergara. Vergara misses with a takedown attempt and Moore counters with a head kick. That will keep Vergara thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Moore blocks a jab. Vergara misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Moore.
Vergara lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Moore circles away quickly and effectively. Vergara is looking to wear down Moore with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Vergara moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Moore fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Vergara, pushing him back against the cage. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Moore creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Moore ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Moore no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Vergara passes into half guard. Moore has one foot on Vergara's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Vergara throws a sloppy head kick and Moore moves out of range easily. Vergara throws a leg kick and Moore counters with a flying knee. Nice. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Moore closes the distance and pushes Vergara back into the cage. Moore's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Some bone on bone action there as Moore checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Vergara tries to close the distance and clinch but Moore swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Daniel Vergara dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Vergara doesn't succeed with the takedown and Moore counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Vergara is lucky that one didn't land flush. Vergara throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Moore. Vergara takes a swing at Moore's ribcage but misses. Vergara changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Moore tries to avoid it but Vergara manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Moore to the ground. Moore escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Vergara tries to clinch there but Moore circles away.

Vergara's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Vergara duly obliges. Vergara throws a right and a left that Moore avoids nicely. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Moore works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Moore showing good wrestling skills to control the position. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Let's hope that Moore has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Daniel Vergara. I think Vergara has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
