Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Douglas Lima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Rubio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lima comes to the cage accompanied by DMX - Ain't no sunshine. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Douglas Lima! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Adam Rubio! The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lima throws a low kick but Rubio moves out of range easily. Lima is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! A momentary lapse in concentration from Lima enables Rubio to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Lima manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Rubio would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Lima looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Lima working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Rubio has passed into half guard!
Lima wants to stand back up but Rubio manages to pass into side control.
Lima is trying to improve his position. Rubio is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Lima has escaped the position, nice work there. Rubio in side control, throwing shots but Lima defends.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rubio working away. Rubio decides to take the fight back to the feet. Rubio shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Lima napping and manages to drive through into side control! Rubio has knee on belly and moves into mount. Rubio is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Excellent takedown into side control there by Rubio. Lima tries to bench press Rubio off him but Rubio keeps the position. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lima is trying to work for a sweep but Rubio has mounted him! Rubio pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Rubio controlling from the full mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rubio looking to secure an arm triangle but Lima defends it well. Rubio controlling from the full mount. Rubio is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Lima has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Lima keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rubio lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Lima hang on? Lima tries to get back to half guard but can't. Rubio is stalling here but it's allowed Lima to get half guard.
Rubio seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lima does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Lima is trying to get back to full guard. Rubio passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Lima! Lima really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Rubio trying to control but Lima is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lima gets back to half guard. Lima is refusing to be controlled, as Rubio sits in half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lima wants to control the action here but instead Rubio manages to pass to full mount! Lima is wriggling around trying to escape.
Rubio working for a submission but Lima is keeping him at bay. Rubio raining down shots from the mount! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Lima is trying to escape the mount.
Rubio lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Adam Rubio dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Rubio is looking to clinch but Lima is avoiding it.
Lima fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Rubio checks it well. Rubio circles away from the clinch attempt.
Rubio on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Rubio has Lima up against the cage in a clinch.
Nice elbow from Rubio.
It looks like Douglas Lima has been cut. Lima's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Rubio has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Lima clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Rubio is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Lima is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rubio is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Lima has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. You can see the frustration on Lima's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lima trying to control the hands but Rubio breaks the grip. Rubio is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Lima with him. Lima is trying to defend but Rubio has an arm under the chin now! Lima grimaces and is forced to tap out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Adam Rubio! After the big win, Adam Rubio made sure to do all the important stuff like thanking his sponsors Charlie Wang's Tattered Rags & 95% Laundry and telling the interviewer how much he loves him.
