PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Darth Vadar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hakeem The Killer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vadar comes into the arena with Hall of Fame blaring out of the sound system. The Killer has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Darth Vadar has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Darth Vadar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hakeem The Killer!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vadar sends The Killer crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Vadar is motioning to the referee to let The Killer up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!


That has opened up Hakeem The Killer's cut even more.
The Killer looks winded!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Vadar moves into the clinch successfully.
Vadar content to slow the pace in the clinch.
The Killer tries to pull guard but Vadar won't allow it.

Vadar breaks the clinch.

Vadar darts in and clinches The Killer up against the cage.
The Killer stops a takedown attempt from Vadar.

Vadar's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
The Killer stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and The Killer wants it to stay on the feet.

The Killer is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Vadar's half guard.
Vadar is doing well to control the position and prevent The Killer from advancing to side control.

Vadar is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The Killer stops Vadar from getting back to his feet.

The Killer tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Vadar.

Vadar wants to stand but The Killer is controlling the position.
Vadar is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Vadar throws a quick head kick that skims the top of The Killer's head.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The cut above Hakeem The Killer's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Vadar can't get the takedown.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
The Killer fails to land the takedown.
Vadar changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. The Killer tries to avoid it but Vadar manages to keep hold of a leg and drag The Killer to the ground. The Killer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Nice sprawl there from The Killer as Vadar shoots in.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The Killer throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Vadar tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

The Killer leaves Vadar with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
The Killer shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Vadar as he jumps to the side.

Vadar shoots for a double leg takedown but The Killer sprawls well. He's pushed Vadar's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Darth Vadar is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

The Killer changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Vadar looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The Killer wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Vadar, who protects the arm well.

The Killer fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Vadar.
The Killer keeps the fight on the outside.
Vadar shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has The Killer pinned against the cage. The Killer gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
The Killer bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Vadar fails with an attempt to clinch.
No luck for Vadar with that takedown attempt.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Vadar will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That was a close second round but I would say that Darth Vadar will probably get the nod.

Vadar closes the distance and clinches up with The Killer, looking for a takedown. Vadar pushes The Killer against the cage but The Killer circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Vadar tries a head kick but it misses.

Vadar closes the distance and pushes The Killer back into the cage.

Vadar is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The Killer is trying to drag Vadar to the mat but Vadar just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
