Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chappa Chippa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Wood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Chappa Chippa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jeff Wood! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wood throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Chippa really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Wood swings away with a leg kick that misses. Wood throws a leg kick but Chippa checks it. Wood will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Wood lands a leg kick that knocks Chippa off balance momentarily. Wood throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Chippa scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Wood is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Wood throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Chippa lands a nice short elbow. Wood is looking to improve his position.
Chippa wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wood keeps working. Chippa will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Wood gets back to full guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Wood is trying to control the position from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Wood is on top in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wood thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Wood trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Chippa working a defensive guard but Wood manages to pass into side control anyway.
Chippa is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Wood looks up at the clock and then as Chippa takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Wood smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Wood is trying to get an arm triangle but Chippa is defending well. Chippa is looking to regain half guard here but Wood keeps moving and retains side control. Chippa knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wood on the ground. Wood has an Americana. Chippa didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Wood is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Wood hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Jeff Wood!
