Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between B D (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, B D!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryan Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Bruno Hogan and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
D swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

D closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

D gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Gracie looking to hit a scissor sweep but D is one step ahead there.
D thows a big elbow that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gracie trying to control the position.
D knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.
D wanted to stand there but Gracie had control of the position.
Gracie bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in D's guard.
D working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Gracie.
D could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. D swivels though and keeps the full guard.
D controls Gracie momentarily but Gracie frees himself.

Gracie wants to pass the guard but D is keeping the position.
Gracie throwing strikes from guard but D blocks nicely.
D wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Gracie trying to control but D is working from the bottom.
Gracie thows a big elbow that misses.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Gracie has a takedown stuffed.

D looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Gracie!
Gracie is in all sorts of trouble here.

Gracie wants to hold on but D pushes him away.

D scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Gracie?
Gracie has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Gracie has a hand on D's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. D takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
D avoids the attempt from Gracie to control.

Gracie tries to reverse the position but D maintains control.
D wants to control the pace but Gracie is squirming around nicely.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
D tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Gracie is desperately trying to improve his position but D has a good base and remains in mount.
D trying to control but Gracie is having none of it.
Gracie wants to control but D is having none of it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Gracie tries to reverse the position but D maintains control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

B D dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



D instigates a clinch.

D jumps guard.
D lands a decent punch to the body there.
D is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Gracie advances to half guard.
Gracie is thwarting D's attempts to control the position.
Gracie perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Gracie throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Gracie thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Gracie is breathing heavily.
D gets full guard.

D wriggles free and stands up.

Gracie finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

D takes the fight into the clinch.
Gracie is trying to work for a single leg takedown but D pulls him back up using the underhooks.

D has picked Gracie up - he's going for a ride! D dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
D tries to stand but can't do so whilst Gracie controls his leg.
Gracie is looking to improve his position.
Gracie is trying is best to control the position here.
Gracie trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

D controlling the pace for now.
Gracie is working to get back to half guard.
Gracie throwing hammer fists to the chest of D. What's that going to do exactly?
D wants to control the pace but Gracie is squirming around nicely.
Gracie is trying to escape the mount.

Gracie wants to hold on but D pushes him away.
Gracie really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Gracie tries to reverse the position but D maintains control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Gracie is looking to get to half guard.
Gracie is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

B D dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Gracie tries to clinch but D moves away
and D counters with a two punch combo.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

D closes the distance and clinches.

D jumps into guard, dragging Gracie to the mat.
Gracie trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but D is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gracie accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
D is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Gracie is looking for a sweep. D is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Gracie is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute D jumps into side control!
Gracie tries to improve position but can't.
Gracie being controlled for a moment.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gracie regains half guard.
Gracie is pressing down on D's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Gracie doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
D stays in close to Gracie's body and controls the position.
D stopping the sweep attempt from Gracie.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gracie looking to control.
Gracie throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
D has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Gracie is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
D listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Gracie tries to clinch but D moves away

and D counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by D.
Gracie controls D momentarily but D frees himself.
Gracie looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but D puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gracie has a hand on D's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. D takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Gracie tries to reverse the position but D maintains control.
Gracie wants to hold on but D pushes him away.
D prevents Gracie from getting the reversal.
Gracie gets back to half guard.
Gracie is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of D's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take D's back!
Gracie has the hooks in. D is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Gracie misses with an elbow to the head.
D is trying to escape under a series of strikes and manages to escape from Gracie 's hooks.
D is in all sorts of trouble here.

Gracie is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Gracie!
