PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bartholomew Simpson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rab Rehab (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rehab is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: saturday nights alright for fighting. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simpson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Rehab scores with a punch to the head.
Rehab throws a lazy right hand but Simpson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Rehab connects with a jab.
Simpson jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Rehab lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

It looks like Bartholomew Simpson has been cut.

Rehab is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Simpson's half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Simpson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Simpson is looking to control Rehab's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Simpson avoid being mounted?
Rehab not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Rehab wants to pass to mount but Simpson is defending the position.

Rehab decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Simpson throws a body punch but Rehab moves out of range.
Simpson slaps away a takedown attempt from Rehab, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Simpson lands a body shot.
Simpson bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Rehab's head.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Rehab!
Rehab shoots in but no luck this time.
Simpson slips under a jab.
Bartholomew Simpson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Simpson thows a body shot but no joy.
Rehab chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Simpson can pounce on him.
A looping hook to the body misses from Simpson. Rehab does a little dance to reset his feet.
Simpson takes a swing at Rehab's ribcage but misses.
Bartholomew Simpson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rehab throws a shot to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Simpson scores with a decent looking hook.
Simpson keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Rehab jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Simpson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rehab was well out of range. Poor timing from Simpson.
Rehab checks a low kick from Simpson.
Simpson throws a body punch but Rehab moves out of range.
Rehab misses the shot to the body.
Rehab doesn't manage to clinch there - Simpson circles away.
Rehab smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
A lazy left from Simpson finds it's target.
Rehab closes the distance and clinches up with Simpson, looking for a takedown. Rehab pushes Simpson against the cage but Simpson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Bartholomew Simpson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rab Rehab.
Simpson keeps the fight on the outside.
Simpson throws a push kick but Rehab slaps the foot to one side.
Simpson ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Simpson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Rehab looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Rehab uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Simpson.
Simpson works Rehab's body with a nice hook.
Simpson blocks a jab.
Simpson misses with a few strikes there.
Rehab steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Simpson. That one must have hurt.
Simpson throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Simpson throws a front kick that sends Rehab stumbling back into the cage.
Simpson lands a nice looking kick to the body. Rehab takes a step back to recover.
Rehab looks winded!
Simpson connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Simpson just misses with a punch to the body.
Rehab takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Simpson looks to score with a jab to the body but Rehab is just out of range.

A punch lands to the side of Rehab 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Simpson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Simpson connects with a nice looking jab.

Rehab is rocked!
Simpson lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Rehab up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Simpson from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Rehab's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Bartholomew Simpson!
