Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Bedford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franklin Worner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny Bedford!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Franklin Worner!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bedford misses the body punch
and Worner counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Bedford throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Worner's waist but Worner gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bedford off to one side.
Worner wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Worner has his takedown stuffed
and Bedford counters with an outside leg kick.
Worner misses with a head kick.
A right-left combo lands from Worner.

Bedford closes the distance and clinches.
Bedford is struggling to control the position.
Worner tries to break free but Bedford pushes him back against the cage.
Bedford really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Bedford has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Worner is trying to keep an underhook but Bedford manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bedford works his foot free and advances to mount.

Bedford avoids the attempt from Worner to control.

Bedford is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Worner can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Bedford looking to finish Worner with some ground and pound. This is bad for Worner!
Worner really wants to buck Bedford off and get back to his feet.
Bedford trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Worner holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Bedford tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Bedford trying to control but Worner is having none of it.
Bedford takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Worner is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Bedford manages to capitalize on a mistake by Worner to take his back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Worner prevents Bedford from getting a body triangle.
Worner rolls, trying to escape but Bedford keeps control of the position.
Worner is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Worner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bedford. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Bedford has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Worner has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Worner tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bedford sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Worner somewhat.
Bedford tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Worner pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Bedford back to the cage. Worner follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Bedford closes this distance looking for a takedown but Worner circles away.
The fighters circling - Bedford throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Bedford shoots in for a double leg but Worner sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

and Bedford counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Johnny Bedford overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Bedford drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Worner manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bedford has Worner in his guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bedford bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Worner's guard.

Bedford wants to finish this one by submission but Worner is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Bedford.

Bedford moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Worner has worked his arm free - good work by Worner!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Worner can do anything to dispel that myth.
Bedford not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Worner is looking to control Bedford's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Worner avoid being mounted?
Bedford is trying to control. Worner wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

We're going to have a standup here because Johnny Bedford wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Worner shoots in looking for a takedown. Bedford tries to sprawl out of it but Worner keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bedford manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Worner gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Bedford is just content to waste time from the top position. Worner takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Worner escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bedford gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Bedford postures up in Worner's guard and throws a big left but Worner blocks it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Johnny Bedford.
Worner feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Bedfords jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Bedford fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Worner sprawls well initially but Bedford persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Worner misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Bedford is keen to just control but Worner is a slippery customer.

Bedford stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Worner to get to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Bedford manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Worner on his heels. He'll look to pass Worner's guard now, I'm sure.
Bedford wants to control from the top but Worner keeps moving.
Bedford wants to stand but Worner is controlling his posture from full guard.

Worner looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Worner has a closed guard, preventing Bedford from standing up.
Worner wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Bedford manages to pass to side control.
Bedford wants to lay and pray for a moment but Worner keeps working.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that's the end of the fight!
Johnny Bedford showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bedford, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
