Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tim Perry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Shields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tim Perry! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyson Shields! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shields shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Perry decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Shields's guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Shields is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Shields keeping moving, preventing Perry from controlling successfully. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Shields can do anything to dispel that myth. Perry drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Perry jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Perry won't allow Shields to sweep him here. Shields keeping full guard, as Perry tries to pass. Perry preventing the sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Perry passes Shields's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Shields is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Perry seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Shields does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Perry performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Shields wants to get back to full guard. Perry wants to take a breather but Shields is having none of it. Shields tries to kick Perry off but Perry keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Tim Perry just wasn't active enough. Perry misses with a takedown enabling Shields to counter with a crisp jab. Perry throws a head kick that misses. Shields tries to clinch there but Perry circles away.
Shields shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Perry napping and manages to drive through into side control! Shields tries to move to mount but Perry blocks the move with his legs. Perry wants to get back to his feet but Shields is dominant here and he's now got Perry's back! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Shields is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Perry looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Perry tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Shields looking to control but Perry is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Perry is trying to reverse the position but instead Shields has taken his back - oops! Shields looking for the choke from the back. Perry controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shields throwing sloppy strikes. Perry trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Perry really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Shields wants to control but Perry manages to buck him off and is now in Shields's guard! Nice work there by Perry! Shields throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Perry stays in close to Shields's body and controls the position. Perry seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Shields for as long as he can get away with. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Perry trying to control the position from guard on top but Shields is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tim Perry dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Perry tries to clinch up but Shields circles away and keeps his distance. Shields scores with a push kick. Shields shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Shields winds up and cracks Perry with a swinging punch to the side of the head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Perry avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Shields. Perry works his way to full guard. Good work. Perry working a defensive guard here.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Shields trying to control the position from guard on top but Perry is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shields prevents Perry from getting back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Perry throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Shields must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Perry is adopting a defensive guard. Perry will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Perry is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Shields controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Tim Perry overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shields looking to pass the guard.
Tyson Shields has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Shields shoots in but Perry avoids the takedown attempt easily. Perry closes the distance and clinches up with Shields, looking for a takedown. Perry pushes Shields against the cage but Shields circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Shields fails with a takedown attempt. Shields shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Perry sprawls well. Perry wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Shields gets slowly back to his feet. Tim Perry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyson Shields. Perry tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shields scoring well with a low kick there.
The fight stays on the outside here - Perry looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Shields fails with a takedown attempt. Shields fails with a takedown attempt. Perry just misses with a punch to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Shields keeping moving, preventing Perry from controlling successfully. Perry looking to pass the guard. Perry loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Perry wants to control from the top but Shields keeps moving. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tim Perry has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Shields shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Perry manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Perry pushes Shields off and scrambles back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Tyson Shields will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Shields moves into the clinch. Perry breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Shields misses with a takedown so Perry counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Perry thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Shields looking for a guillotine here but Perry defends easily.
Shields is looking for a triangle but Perry pushes his legs off easily.
Shields takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Perry controlling from the top position. Shields looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Perry trying to control but Shields is working from the bottom. Perry passes Shields's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shields trying to control but Perry postures up.
Perry is keen to just control but Shields is a slippery customer. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Shields slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Perry works a leg free and moves into half guard. Perry tries to pass to full mount but Shields defends it. Perry is looking to take a break and control but Shields is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Perry works his foot free and advances to mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Perry can't control as he wanted to and Shields manages to get the fight back to his half guard. Perry thows a huge punch but Shields dodges it nicely.
Shields looks like he's trying to stand up.
Shields wants to control but Perry is keeping busy.
Perry is controlling the pace.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Perry is pressing down on Shields's thigh, looking to free his foot. Shields is holding on for now. Shields actively working from the bottom here. Perry keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Tim Perry. Shields closes the distance and clinches.
And that's the end of the fight! Tim Perry showed his dominance in that final round. I think Perry has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
