Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zach Nielsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brak Lassner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lassner throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nielsen's waist but Nielsen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lassner off to one side. Lassner ducks under a wild hook from Nielsen. Lassner fails with the takedown. Lassner avoids a kick to the body.
Nielsen catches Lassner with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Nielsen pivots, looking for a leg kick but Lassner is out of range and Nielsen settles back down. A combination from Nielsen does no damage. Lassner shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nielsen but Nielsen pushes him off and we're back to square one. Zach Nielsen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brak Lassner. Lassner shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Nielsen as he avoids it easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lassner tries to clinch there but Nielsen circles away.
Lassner circles away from the clinch attempt and Lassner counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lassner tries to land a front kick but Nielsen steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Nielsen looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Lassner with a poor takedown so Nielsen counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Nielsen not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Nielsen won't allow Lassner to sweep him here. Lassner preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Nielsen working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Lassner's head. Lassner wants to stand but Nielsen is controlling the position. Nielsen sitting in guard here, content to control. Lassner is trying to keep Nielsen in close.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nielsen wants to control from the top but Lassner keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nielsen looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Nielsen has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Nielsen passes into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nielsen is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Nielsen seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Lassner for as long as he can get away with.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lassner is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Nielsen is taking a breather. Lassner says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Lassner blocking the ground and pound attempt from Nielsen. Nielsen thows a huge punch but Lassner dodges it nicely.
Nielsen trying to control from half guard but Lassner is working away. Lassner wants to control but Nielsen is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Lassner actively working from the bottom here. Lassner looks gassed!
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Lassner misses with a head kick.
Nielsen connects with a crisp jab. Nielsen swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
so Lassner counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Nielsen controls Lassner momentarily but Lassner frees himself. Lassner trying to control but Nielsen is working from the bottom. Nielsen pulls Lassner in close to prevent any damage. Nielsen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lassner manages to get himself to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Zach Nielsen dominated that round. That's time! Nielsen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Lassner gets caught flat footed, as Nielsen shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Lassner utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Nielsen trying to control the position from guard on top but Lassner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Nielsen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Lassner is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Lassner is looking for a triangle but Nielsen pushes his legs off easily.

I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Nielsen trying to control the position from guard on top but Lassner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lassner is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nielsen passes into half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Lassner is staying active underneath Nielsen, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Lassner tries to get to full guard but Nielsen has control of the leg. Nielsen misses with a head shot. Lassner uses the momentum to regain guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Nielsen looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Lassner not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Nielsen slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Lassner keeping full guard, as Nielsen tries to pass. Lassner controls Nielsen momentarily but Nielsen frees himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nielsen trying to control the position from guard on top but Lassner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lassner wants to sweep but no luck. Lassner trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Lassner ducks under a wild hook from Nielsen. Lassner with a poor takedown and Nielsen counters with a takedown into side control. Lassner manages to get back to half guard. Lassner manages to get to full guard.
Lassner controls Nielsen momentarily but Nielsen frees himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nielsen seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Nielsen trying to control the position from guard on top but Lassner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Nielsen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Zach Nielsen dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Lassner rushes Nielsen and presses him up against the cage. Nielsen lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Lassner goes for a takedown in the clinch but Nielsen prevents it.
Nielsen is looking to control Lassner's arms but Lassner gets an underhook and turns him. Now Nielsen has his back to the cage. Lassner pulls guard. Lassner wants to sweep here but Nielsen controlling him for the moment. Nielsen tries to free his leg and advance position but Lassner is retaining full guard. Lassner wants to hit a switch here but Nielsen passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Lassner there! Nielsen looking to secure an arm triangle but Lassner defends it well. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Nielsen prevents Lassner from getting the reversal.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lassner takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Nielsen can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lassner is looking to escape. Nielsen throwing strikes here but Lassner is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Nielsen stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Lassner closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Nielsen is trying to work for a sweep but Lassner has mounted him!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lassner trying to control but he's not successful this time. Nielsen is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Nielsen is in all sorts of trouble here.
Nielsen wants to control but Lassner is having none of it. Nielsen gets back to half guard. Nielsen is controlling Lassner's position as best he can from this difficult position. Lassner is keen to just control but Nielsen is a slippery customer. Zach Nielsen overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lassner lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Nielsen controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Lassner seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Nielsen does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Lassner is taking a breather. Nielsen says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Nielsen looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Lassner looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Lassner wants to free his trapped foot but Nielsen is holding on for dear life with his legs. Lassner stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Lassner shoots in for a takedown but Nielsen shows good takedown defense. Lassner has his takedown stuffed and Nielsen holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Brak Lassner. Well Nielsen has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
