The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnett falls off balance throwing a combination
and Ellis makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Nice body punch from Ellis.
Ellis wants to clinch
and Barnett moves into the clinch.
Barnett takes an elbow to the forehead.
It looks like Matt Barnett has been cut.
Nice elbow from Ellis.
Ellis trying to stall but Barnett improves his position.
Ellis scores with a knee to the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Barnett wants to take the fight to the mat but Ellis manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Ellis creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Barnett's defenses.
Ellis working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Barnett is rocked!
Ellis landing some nice looking knees to the body.

Barnett takes an elbow to the temple.
Barnett is still on wobbly legs! Can Ellis finish him?
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Barnett seems to have recovered his senses.
Ellis jerks Barnett's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Barnett drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Ellis goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Ellis because Barnett was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knee). Shane Ellis!
