Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ollie Ritch! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bryan Fury! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yukihiro Shimada and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fury walks into a straight right hand from Ritch. Ritch misses with an uppercut. Ritch uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Fury takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ritch throws a series of punches but Fury avoids them all with ease. Ritch stuffs the takedown attempt from Fury. Fury gets slowly back to his feet. Ritch moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Ritch is looking to clinch but Fury is avoiding it.
Ritch tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Ritch tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fury swats him away and circles back towards the center. Ritch throws a sloppy head kick and Fury moves out of range easily. Ritch lands a right hook to the body.
Ritch throws a good cross that connects.
No luck for Fury with that takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fury blocks a head kick by Ritch.
Ritch is looking to clinch but Fury is avoiding it.
Ritch works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Ritch throws a sloppy head kick and Fury moves out of range easily. Ritch displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Fury. Ollie Ritch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bryan Fury. Ritch pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ritch instigates a clinch. Fury wants to break free but Ritch has control.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Ritch takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Ritch breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fury avoids the head kick by Ritch.
Fury closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fury working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. The ground and pound from Fury seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! You can see the frustration on Ritch's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Fury is chipping away with strikes.
Fury trying to control the action but Ritch is working from the bottom. Ritch struggling a bit here. Fury works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. An elbow from Fury crashes against the mat.
Fury lands a few punches from side control. Ritch regains half guard. Fury thows a huge punch but Ritch dodges it nicely.
Fury throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Fury landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Fury scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Fury missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Ritch desperately trying to maintain half guard. Ritch works his way to full guard. Good work. Ritch has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Ritch avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ritch is pulling down on Fury's head. It's preventing any offense from Fury, at least for the moment. This has been an exciting period of action! A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fury accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Fury landing with the ground and pound. Fury really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ritch. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Ritch manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Fury manages to get himself to full guard.
Fury is looking to stand up but Ritch isn't so interested in that idea. Fury being controlled here, momentarily. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Fury can do anything to dispel that myth. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Ritch gets to his feet - Fury follows without any prompting. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ollie Ritch dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
A jab from Ritch does it's job there. Fury ducks under a wild hook from Ritch. Ritch lands with a nice body punch. Ritch pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ritch ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Ritch clinches up against the cage. Fury is trying to break the clinch but Ritch has him pressed against the cage. Fury tries to break free but Ritch pushes him back against the cage. Ritch's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Ritch keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Fury's efforts to push away. Fury wants to break the clinch but can't.
Fury misses with some punches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ritch gets through Fury's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Ritch has Fury pressed against the cage, preventing Fury from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Fury throws a head punch that misses. Fury wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Ritch has him pressed against the cage. A quick uppercut on the inside from Ritch. Ritch breaks the clinch.
Fury takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Fury dives in and grabs Ritch's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ritch pushes down on Fury's head and hops out. A head kick from Ritch lands but Fury takes it in his stride. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ritch moves in looking to clinch but Fury pushes him off. Fury drops his hands momentarily and Ritch takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Fury takes a shot right to the bread basket. Ritch paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Ritch lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ritch lands a big uppercut and Fury crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Fury looks OK. Ritch waves Fury back to his feet!
Fury is rocked! Fury moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Fury is still on wobbly legs! Can Ritch finish him? Fury shoots in looking for a takedown but Ritch manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Fury's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Fury is breathing heavily. Fury is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Ritch just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! Now a right hook, right on the button! Fury has gone limp and this one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Ollie Ritch! In his post fight interview, Ollie Ritch gave a big smile as he said 'Do you quack? Do you quak like a duck when you suck!!! Hey after party at my place- I need a blow job!!! Gina!! I know your out there come on baby!!!!'.
