Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jan De Veers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joseph Toombs! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! De Veers shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Toombs pinned against the cage. Toombs gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. De Veers scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. De Veers trying to control the action but Toombs is working from the bottom. Toombs gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Toombs is just holding on here. De Veers manages to take his back.

De Veers looking to finish the fight with a rear naked choke. Toombs is controlling De Veers 's left arm and he spins nicely into guard. De Veers is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

De Veers might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. De Veers tries to hold on but Toombs postures up. De Veers is trying desperately to improve position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Toombs in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. De Veers is looking to get to half guard. De Veers looks out of his depth in this position - he's holding on tight. Toombs looks gassed! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Toombs with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Toombs tries for a takedown but De Veers circles away easily and De Veers decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Toombs's guard. De Veers slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Toombs can't keep his opponent in guard - De Veers advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. De Veers stands up from half guard. De Veers tries for a takedown but Toombs sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. De Veers fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Toombs quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! De Veers has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Toombs celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
