Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Amadeus Astra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dirk Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dirk Davis will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Astra looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Davis shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Astra is trying to escape the mount.
Astra is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Davis looking to control but Astra is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Astra gets back to half guard.
Davis is trying to control the action in half guard but Astra is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Astra is looking to control Davis's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Astra avoid being mounted?
Astra slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Astra looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Astra seems keen to control Davis's posture.

Davis must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Davis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Astra is working hard here to advance position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Astra showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Davis.
Astra takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Davis avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Astra misses with a takedown
and Davis counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Davis lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Astra has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Astra and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

and Davis counters with a stiff right hand.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Amadeus Astra. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Davis tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Astra doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Davis counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Astra misses with a takedown attempt
and Davis counters with a nice body shot.
Davis moves out of range of the strikes.
Davis will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Davis counters with a series of strikes. Astra will be more careful next time no doubt.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
A punch lands to the side of Astra 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Astra shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Davis makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Davis connects with a good right hand that stumbles Astra. Astra circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Davis is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Astra misses with a takedown
and Davis counters with a low kick, right behind Astra 's knee.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dirk Davis dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Astra shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Davis counters with a left and a right that stings Astra.
Astra tries for a takedown but Davis circles away easily
and Davis counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Davis won't allow Astra to sweep him here.
Davis trying to control the position from guard on top but Astra is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Davis gets to his feet - Astra follows without any prompting.

Astra fails with the takedown
and Davis counters with a nice double leg into side control. Astra won't be happy with that.

Astra is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Davis off and has taken his back!
