Brooks comes to the ring accompanied by The Survivor. Poddubny is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Champion Of The Champions. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brooks with a lazy takedown attempt
and Poddubny counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Horrible takedown by Brooks or perhaps it was just good defense by Poddubny which made him look bad.
Brooks misses with a wild body shot.
Brooks throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Poddubny pushes Brooks up against the ropes in a clinch.
Brooks tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Poddubny's elbow.

Brooks drops back looking for a leg! Poddubny is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Poddubny manages to kick Brooks off! Brooks jumps back into Poddubny's guard.
Brooks is looking to work some ground and pound but Poddubny has wrist control.
Brooks passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Brooks wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Poddubny, who protects the arm well.
Brooks working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Brooks is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Poddubny knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Brooks is sitting in close to Poddubny's body. Poddubny has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Brooks is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Brooks is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Poddubny.

In his post fight interview, Ivan Poddubny started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
