Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kazimierz Deyna!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, William Flyne!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deyna closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Flyne quickly recovers to half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Flyne is trying to stand back up but Deyna is controlling him
Well, if Deyna is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Kazimierz Deyna has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Flyne closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Deyna bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Deyna is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Deyna wants to lay and pray for a moment but Flyne keeps working.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Deyna takes a little break here. Flyne wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Kazimierz Deyna just wasn't active enough.
Deyna throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Flyne tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Deyna is in Flyne's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Deyna pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Flyne is keeping the position for now.
Flyne is working an open guard so Deyna takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Deyna drives through with a takedown into guard.
Deyna is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kazimierz Deyna has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Deyna lands a high kick!
Deyna swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Flyne get stunned by a cross and takes another one on the button. Flyne stumbles backwards and tries to bounce back off the cage but Deyna runs in and jumps on him with a leaping lead hook that puts him out! Wow, that was highlight reel stuff! Awesome finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kazimierz Deyna!
