Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steven Doyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Hurst (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hurst has chosen when the bullet hits the bone as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steven Doyle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Patrick Hurst! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hurst pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Doyle back to the cage. Hurst follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Doyle tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Hurst throws a series of punches but Doyle moves out of range. Doyle fails in his attempt to clinch. Doyle doesn't manage to clinch there - Hurst circles away.
Hurst shoots in but no luck this time. Hurst throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Hurst misses with a few strikes there.
A combination from Hurst does no damage. Doyle shoots in looking for a takedown. Hurst tries to sprawl out of it but Doyle keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hurst manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. The fight stays on the outside here - Doyle looks like he's thinking about clinching though. A combination from Hurst does no damage. Hurst misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Doyle fails with a takedown attempt. Doyle gets the takedown into side control. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Doyle tries to move to mount but Hurst blocks the move with his legs. Doyle tries to move to full mount but Hurst actually manages to regain half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Doyle works his way into full mount! Hurst really wants to buck Doyle off and get back to his feet. Hurst really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Hurst tries to hold on but Doyle postures up. Hurst is trying to escape the mount.
Doyle goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Hurst is on top in guard.
Doyle will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Hurst preventing the sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hurst wants to get up but he can't break Doyle's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Doyle has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hurst can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Doyle wants to improve his position but instead Hurst has moved into half guard.
Hurst passes to side control. Doyle looks to move to half guard but instead Hurst has passed into mount! Damn! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hurst misses with a head shot. Doyle is looking to get to half guard. The referee warns Doyle that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Doyle slips nicely into half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hurst works his way to full guard. Good work. Hurst passes Doyle's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Hurst decides to stand and escape the position. Hurst keeps the fight on the outside. Doyle has a closed guard, preventing Hurst from standing up. Hurst slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hurst tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Hurst fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Hurst has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Doyle is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Hurst yanks on the arm and Doyle is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Hurst.
