PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Brady (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark McDonald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying McDonald's choice of entrance music: No Apologies. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bobby Brady!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark McDonald!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brady motions for McDonald to come forward. Brady throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Brady shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brady wants to stand up but McDonald is controlling the position.
McDonald keeping hold of Brady's head, controlling as best he can.
Brady is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, McDonald manages to get to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

McDonald escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Brady gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Brady trying to control the position from guard on top but McDonald is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Brady not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Bobby Brady just wasn't active enough.
Brady stuffs the takedown attempt from McDonald. McDonald gets slowly back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McDonald uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Brady.

Brady gets caught napping as McDonald dives in and scores a takedown. Brady manages to retain guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Brady is on top in guard.
Brady tries to stand but McDonald is controlling from the bottom.
Brady pushing down on McDonald's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
It looks like Brady is going to stand back up.
Brady is keen to just control but McDonald is a slippery customer.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Brady tries to stand but can't do so whilst McDonald controls his leg.

McDonald has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Brady is working away from the top position though.

Brady is working for a submission of some sort.
Brady will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Brady wants to stand but McDonald has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Brady looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Brady is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Brady wants to get back to his feet.
McDonald trying to control from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
McDonald shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Brady pinned against the cage. Brady gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Brady lands a head shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brady manages to get an easy takedown there - catching McDonald on his heels. He'll look to pass McDonald's guard now, I'm sure.
Brady wants to stand but McDonald is controlling his posture from full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McDonald is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Brady has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of McDonald is proving hard to escape from.

McDonald has momentary wrist control but Brady slips an elbow through the middle.
Brady would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Brady slips nicely into half guard.
McDonald trying to control from the bottom.
Brady seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McDonald does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Brady tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Brady wants to stand but his hand is trapped. McDonald uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
Brady wants to stand but McDonald is controlling his posture from full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Brady wants to pass the guard but McDonald is keeping the position.

McDonald looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Brady passes into side control.
Brady in side control lands a decent elbow.
Brady tries to stand but McDonald is controlling his head.
McDonald seems a little lost for a moment, as Brady dominates the positioning.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
McDonald wants to control but Brady postures up.
Bobby Brady overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Brady wants to stand but McDonald has him controlled and pulls him back into his guard.

McDonald escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Brady gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Brady would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bobby Brady dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Brady misses with a head kick.

Brady cracks McDonald with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Brady has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning McDonald to stand back up!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
McDonald circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Brady. McDonald falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Brady!
