The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Seu Braga and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bannnon moves out of range of the body kick from Riley.
Riley tries to work over Bannnon's front leg with a kick but Bannnon checks it.
Bannnon misses with a body shot.
Bannnon gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Riley is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Riley has Bannnon pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Riley pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Bannnon tumbling to the mat - Riley dives into Bannnon's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Bannnon has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Riley can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Riley darts in and clinches Bannnon up against the cage.
Riley tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Bannnon avoids it.
Riley works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Bannnon has his foot on Riley's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Riley works his way back into a safe position though.
Riley must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Bannnon tries to reverse the position but Riley maintains control.
Bannnon is squirming around, avoiding Riley's attempts to control the action.
Riley might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Bannnon haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Bannnon is looking to control Riley's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bannnon avoid being mounted?

Bannnon has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Riley escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Riley!
