Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mikhail Rakhmanov!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Aleksandr Martynov and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab from Kavelin.
Kavelin throws a series of punches but Rakhmanov moves out of range.
Kavelin takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Kavelin moves into range and clinches up with Rakhmanov.
Rakhmanov just leaning against Kavelin, taking a breather.
Kavelin wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Rakhmanov has him pressed against the cage.
A shot in the inside from Kavelin.
Kavelin misses with a knee to the head.
Rakhmanov tries to circle away but Kavelin has him pinned against the cage.

Kavelin pushes Rakhmanov back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Rakhmanov is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Kavelin is defending well for now.
Kavelin dodges an elbow strike from Rakhmanov.

Rakhmanov breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Rakhmanov scores with a sloppy right hand. Kavelin should have avoided that one.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Rakhmanov counters with a single leg into guard. Kavelin didn't expect that.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Kavelin bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rakhmanov's guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Andrej Kavelin.
The fighters circling - Kavelin throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Kavelin lands a head kick. Rakhmanov smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Rakhmanov throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Rakhmanov lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Kavelin lands a jab to the head.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kavelin is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Kavelin misses with a wild combination.
A combination from Rakhmanov does no damage.
Rakhmanov throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Kavelin on the side of the head.

Kavelin uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Rakhmanov moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Rakhmanov throws a front kick aimed at Kavelin's knee but Kavelin avoids it well.

Andrej Kavelin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rakhmanov scores with a shot to the body.

Rakhmanov cracks Kavelin with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Kavelin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rakhmanov lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Kavelin cracks a nice hook into Rakhmanov's ribs.
Kavelin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rakhmanov moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Rakhmanov looks for the body kick but Kavelin saw that one coming.
Sloppy strikes from Rakhmanov. Those never looked like landing.
Kavelin is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Kavelin misses with a few strikes there.
Kavelin throws an overhand right that lands on Rakhmanov's shoulder, as Rakhmanov tries to avoid the shot.
Rakhmanov throws a front kick that sends Kavelin stumbling back into the cage.
Kavelin throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rakhmanov sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Rakhmanov slips under a jab from Kavelin.
Rakhmanov looks to land a left hand but Kavelin moved out of range nicely.

Kavelin is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Rakhmanov throws the kick towards the body but Kavelin avoids it.
Kavelin ducks right into an uppercut from Rakhmanov.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rakhmanov scores with a shot to the body.
Oh Kavelin is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rakhmanov throws a right and a left that both miss.
Rakhmanov lands a big right hook! Kavelin looks hurt but is still standing! Rakhmanov lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Kavelin falls down and Rakhmanov dives in with a huge hammer fist! Kavelin's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Rakhmanov runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Mikhail Rakhmanov!
Our winner, Mikhail Rakhmanov, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
