Svenn comes to the cage accompanied by We Taking Over. Cavalera has chosen Territory as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tom Svenn! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Max Cavalera! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Thiago Cunha and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Svenn moves in looking to clinch but Cavalera pushes him off. Svenn thows a body shot but no joy. Svenn misses with an uppercut. Cavalera saw that one coming. Svenn shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cavalera pinned against the cage. Cavalera gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Svenn feints and as Cavalera raises his hands in defense, Svenn changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Cavalera working for a triangle but Svenn defends it easily.
Svenn is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Cavalera is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Cavalera has escaped and now he's on top! Svenn lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Cavalera!
That's one minute gone in the round. Svenn raining down shots from the mount! Svenn lands a heavy elbow. Svenn moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Cavalera has worked his arm free - good work by Cavalera!
Svenn tries to move into full mount but can't pass Cavalera's legs. Cavalera sneaks back into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Svenn tries to pass the half guard into mount. Cavalera knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Svenn sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Cavalera defending well though. Svenn prevents Cavalera from improving his position. Svenn is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Cavalera is defending against the submission attempts here by Svenn.

The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Cavalera looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Cavalera! Svenn is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Cavalera's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Svenn is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Cavalera jumps into side control! Cavalera is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Svenn has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Svenn manages to work his way to half guard, despite Cavalera's best efforts. Cavalera looks gassed! Svenn is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Cavalera's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Cavalera's back! Svenn cracks Cavalera with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Cavalera from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.

Cavalera shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Svenn counters by moving into the clinch. Svenn fails to pull guard.

Svenn tries to clinch up. Cavalera with a poor takedown and Svenn decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Cavalera's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Svenn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cavalera swivels though and keeps the full guard. Svenn stands and throws Cavalera's legs to the side, diving into side control. Svenn goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Cavalera has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Svenn but great work by Cavalera. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Svenn tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Svenn throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land. Svenn is looking for a sweep. Svenn manages to get back to half guard. Svenn makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Svenn. Svenn has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Cavalera is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Svenn. Svenn is looking to regain half guard here but Cavalera keeps moving and retains side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Svenn is working hard here to advance position. Svenn is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Svenn looking for a kimura from the bottom but Cavalera passes into side control! Svenn sneaks back into half guard. Svenn works his way to full guard. Good work. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Svenn is on top in guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Svenn is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Cavalera is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Tom Svenn overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Svenn goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Cavalera rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Svenn's guard! Nice work there by Cavalera! Svenn throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Cavalera escapes and throws Svenn's legs to the side, diving into side control! Svenn looking for a sweep but Cavalera has passed into full mount! Oh no!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cavalera prevents Svenn from getting the reversal. Svenn manages to regain half guard. Good work. Svenn regains full guard. Nicely done. Svenn working for a triangle but Cavalera defends it easily.

This is very bad for Cavalera! Can he survive? No! He's out! Svenn gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
