Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jake Corrigan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Marcelo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Don Marcelo is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jake Corrigan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Don Marcelo! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Bruno Hogan and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marcelo swats away the attempt to clinch by Corrigan. Marcelo fails with the takedown and Corrigan counters by moving into the clinch. Marcelo is looking for a takedown. Corrigan lands a shoulder strike. Corrigan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Corrigan swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Corrigan closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Marcelo's guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Marcelo throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Marcelo wants to control but Corrigan passes easily into half guard.
Marcelo tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Corrigan has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Corrigan wants to finish this one by submission but Marcelo is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Corrigan.
That's one minute gone in the round. Corrigan trying to control but Marcelo is having none of it. Marcelo is trying to escape the mount.
Corrigan wants to control the pace but Marcelo is squirming around nicely. Marcelo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Corrigan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Marcelo looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Corrigan is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Marcelo with him. Marcelo is trying to defend but Corrigan has an arm under the chin now! Marcelo grimaces and is forced to tap out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jake Corrigan!
