Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Dickson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joey Ham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Daniel Dickson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joey Ham! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Jeff Smith and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dickson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dickson has Ham up against the cage in a clinch.
Ham pressing his opponent against the cage. Ham jumps guard but Dickson turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Dickson just misses with a elbow thrown towards Ham's brow. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Dickson takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Ham tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Dickson just stands there and leans against the cage. Ham gets control of Dickson's arms and successfully pulls guard. Ham will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Ham has a closed guard, preventing Dickson from standing up. Dickson looking to pass the guard. Ham can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Dickson controls the pace. Dickson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Dickson tries to clinch up. Dickson moves out of range of the body kick. Dickson pushes Ham up against the cage in a clinch. Ham tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Dickson avoids it. Dickson lands an elbow that stopped Ham in his tracks for a moment.
It looks like Joey Ham has been cut. Ham avoids the elbow strike from Dickson, against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dickson slowing the pace effectively. Ham tries to pull guard but Dickson holds him up against the cage and eventually Ham drops back down to his feet.

Ham shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dickson pinned against the cage. Dickson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Dickson clinches. Ham tries to score a body lock takedown but Dickson shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Dickson's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Dickson is pushing Ham up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Dickson seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression. Dickson lands a nice elbow. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Dickson breaks from the clinch.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Joey Ham. Ham shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dickson as he jumps to the side. Dickson closes the distance and pushes Ham back into the cage. Dickson gets underhooks to prevent Ham's takedown attempt.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Dickson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ham. Ham changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dickson tries to avoid it but Ham manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dickson to the ground. Dickson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Joey Ham has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Daniel Dickson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dickson takes the fight into the clinch. Ham tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Dickson's elbow.
And that's the end of the fight! Daniel Dickson showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dickson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
