Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Anh Phan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Cormac Killen! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Paul Tew and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Killen circles away from the clinch attempt.
Phan fails with the takedown. Killen lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Phan keeps Killen at a distance using the push kick. Killen circles away from the clinch attempt.
Phan tries to clinch up and Killen counters with a nice right hand that sends Phan toppling to the canvas! Phan scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Killen finish him?!
Phan is rocked!
It looks like Anh Phan has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Killen shoots in for a takedown but Phan shows good takedown defense. Phan avoids the head kick by Killen.
Killen slaps away a takedown attempt from Phan, before circling back to the center of the mat. Phan blocks a head kick by Killen.
That's one minute gone in the round. Phan fails with the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anh Phan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Phan shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. No joy there for Killen, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Killen closes the distance and clinches. Phan looking to stall.
Phan is trying to pull guard but Killen has him pressed against the cage. Killen tries for a takedown but Phan manages to get underhooks.
Killen is trying to break the clinch but Phan is controlling him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Killen goes for a takedown attempt but Phan pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Killen takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Phan throws a sloppy head kick and Killen moves out of range easily. Phan fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Phan wants to clinch and Phan takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Phan leaves Killen with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Anh Phan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Killen has managed to clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Phan tries to pull guard but Killen holds him up against the cage and eventually Phan drops back down to his feet.
Killen has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Phan uses from the top position. Phan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Killen looking to hit a scissor sweep but Phan is one step ahead there. Killen is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Phan working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Phan won't allow Killen to get back to his feet. Killen has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Phan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Phan throwing strikes but missing. Killen has control of Phan's left arm, preventing Phan from doing any damage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Phan has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Killen is proving hard to escape from. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A combination from Killen does no damage. Killen stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Killen wants it to stay on the feet. This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Phan. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Phan shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Killen sprawls well. Killen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Phan gets slowly back to his feet. Phan tries to clinch up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Killen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Phan as he jumps to the side. Phan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Killen but Killen pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anh Phan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Phan closes the distance but Killen moves to the side and Killen counters with a one-two to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Phan checks the leg kick. Killen keeps the fight on the outside. Killen avoids a low kick by using good footwork. No luck with that takedown attempt from Phan. Phan could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Killen moves into the clinch. Killen drags the fight down to the ground.
Killen is looking to stand up but Phan isn't so interested in that idea. Killen pushes Phan off and gets back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A punch combination from Killen misses. Killen fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Phan avoids it really well and circles away. Killen throws a nice looking combination but Phan bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Phan wants to clinch and Killen counters with a three punch combo that has Phan backing up. Phan nods at Killen to acknowledge the strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Phan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Killen sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Phan somewhat. Killen shoots in for a takedown but Phan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. A chopping leg kick lands by Phan. Phan fails in his attempt to clinch. Phan wants to clinch. Phan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Killen pinned against the cage. Killen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Phan just misses with a punch to the body.
Killen moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Phan looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Killen is fending him off so far but Phan persists. Nope, Killen circles away and we're back to standing. Anh Phan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Phan dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Killen. That did some damage! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Phan walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Phan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Killen's waist but Killen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Phan off to one side. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cormac Killen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Anh Phan's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Killen tries to avoid it but Phan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Killen to the ground. Killen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anh Phan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Phan misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Nice takedown defense from Phan. No joy for Killen on that attempt. Killen scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

That's two minutes gone in the round. A jab from Killen does it's job there. Oh Phan is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Killen thuds a left hand into Phan's body. Phan moves out of range of the body kick from Killen.
Phan seems to have got his legs back now. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Killen misses with a two punch combination.
Killen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Killen looks to land a combination. Phan sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Killen stuffs the takedown attempt from Phan. Phan gets slowly back to his feet. Killen lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Killen gets a clinch. Phan tries to break free but Killen pushes him back against the cage. Phan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Killen motions for Phan to come forward. Killen throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Phan avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Killen throws a right hand that Phan ducks under and follows up with a left that Phan also avoids with ease. Phan shoots in but no luck this time. Killen moves into range and clinches up with Phan. Killen is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Phan gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Killen successfully pulls guard.
Killen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Phan manages to get himself to full guard.
Killen stands up from Phan's guard - Killen perhaps looking for a knockout. Phan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Killen but Killen pushes him off and we're back to square one. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Killen shoots in for a takedown but Phan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
And that's the end of the fight! Cormac Killen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Killen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
