Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Doe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Stratton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Doe comes to the cage accompanied by How could I just kill a man. The key to victory for John Doe has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Doe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eric Stratton! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Columbo Gatti and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stratton swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Stratton misses with a straight left. Doe shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Eric Stratton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Stratton connects with a nice looking jab.
Stratton misses with a straight left. Stratton gets the takedown into side control. Stratton working the head with strikes. Stratton taking a breather here. An elbow from Stratton crashes against the mat.
Stratton is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Stratton works to advance to full mount. Doe defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stratton looking to ground and pound but Doe is blocking nicely. Stratton looking to control and managing it successfully. Doe is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Stratton controlling the pace for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Eric Stratton wasn't active enough on the ground. Stratton falls off balance throwing a combination
and Doe counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Stratton thuds a left hand into Doe's body. Stratton fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Doe sprawls well initially but Stratton persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Stratton controlling the action here. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! It looks like Stratton might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Let's hope that Stratton has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Doe is staying active underneath Stratton, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Eric Stratton was stalling too much, according to the referee. Stratton is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Doe. Stratton dives in and grabs Doe's left leg, looking for a takedown. Doe pushes down on Stratton's head and hops out. Stratton throws a predictable looking body shot
enabling Doe to counter with a crisp jab. Stratton fails to land the takedown. Stratton stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Stratton shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Doe but Doe pushes him off and we're back to square one. John Doe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eric Stratton. The fighters circling - Stratton throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Stratton thows a left - swing and a miss! Stratton throws a shot from downtown. Doe moves away and avoids it. Stratton catches Doe with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! A big left from Stratton misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. No luck for Stratton with that takedown attempt. Doe tries to bum rush Stratton with a series of wild strikes but Stratton uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Stratton misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Stratton looks to land a right hand but Doe moved out of range. Stratton looks to land a combination but Doe avoids it well. Stratton fails with a takedown attempt. Stratton misses with an uppercut
and Doe counters with a good low kick that Stratton was not able to check. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Doe slaps away a takedown attempt from Stratton, before circling back to the center of the mat. A combination from Stratton does no damage. John Doe is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Doe shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Doe throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Doe throws the left hand but Stratton avoids the punch easily. Stratton connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eric Stratton dominated that round. That's time! Doe's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Stratton shoots in for a double leg but Doe sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Doe is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Stratton misses with a double jab.
Stratton closes the distance and clinches up with Doe, looking for a takedown. Stratton pushes Doe against the cage but Doe circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Doe takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Doe avoids the body shot from Stratton.
Stratton moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Stratton shoots in looking for a takedown but Doe manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Stratton's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. John Doe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eric Stratton. Doe clobbers Stratton with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Doe uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Stratton.
Doe keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Stratton. Eric Stratton seems to be getting the better of the standup. Stratton misses with a shot to the body and Doe cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. John Doe is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Stratton throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

That's one minute gone in the round. Stratton throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Doe fails with an attempt to clinch.
Doe staying out of range there. A slow jab from Stratton misses its intended target. Doe has Stratton up against the cage in a clinch.

Stratton swings and misses with a shot to the body and Doe counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Doe keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Doe throws a looping overhand right but Stratton ducks down to avoid it. Stratton misses with an uppercut. Sloppy strikes from Doe. Those never looked like landing. Doe moves out of range as Stratton strikes. Stratton moves into range and connects with a jab.

Stratton drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Stratton tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. That's three minutes gone in the round. Doe tries to buck Stratton off but Stratton is having none of it. Stratton wants to control but Doe is keeping him busy. Stratton is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Doe's shoulder. That is not cool. Stratton wants to control but Doe is keeping him busy. Doe is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Stratton off and has taken his back! Doe doesn't have the hooks in and Stratton manages to turn into his guard.
Eric Stratton has got the better of the ground game so far. Doe seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Doe being controlled here, momentarily.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Eric Stratton. Stratton manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Doe on his heels. He'll look to pass Doe's guard now, I'm sure. Stratton is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. This has been an exciting period of action! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Eric Stratton showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Doe doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Stratton walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. A big right from Stratton misses. Doe gets caught napping as Stratton dives in and scores a takedown. Doe manages to retain guard. Doe is pulling down on Stratton's head to control his posture. Stratton controlling from the top position. Stratton trying to control but Doe is working from the bottom.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. A left lands for Doe. Stratton throws an off balance right hand
and Doe counters with a two punch combo. Stratton shoots in and bounces Doe off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Stratton not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Stratton trying to control but Doe is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Stratton showing good wrestling skills to control the position. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
OK we're going to have a standup here. Eric Stratton hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Stratton instigates a clinch. A battle for position here, against the cage. Doe tries to throw a body punch but Stratton avoids it by throwing Doe back against the cage. Stratton goes for a takedown attempt but Doe pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Doe swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Stratton dips to his left and cracks Doe with an uppercut! Doe fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Stratton connects with a body shot that sends Doe's belly button to the back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Doe tries to clinch but Stratton is having none of it. Doe cracks Stratton with a right hand to the side of the head. Jab by Stratton. Stratton throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Stratton shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Doe as he avoids it easily. John Doe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eric Stratton. Stratton takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Stratton fails to land the takedown. Stratton throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Doe tries a head kick but it misses.
Doe gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Stratton to score an easy takedown into full guard. Stratton's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stratton's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Stratton tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Doe was well out of range. Poor timing from Stratton. Doe ducks under a wild hook from Stratton. Doe instigates a clinch. John Doe has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Doe lands a right hand.
And that's the end of the fight! Eric Stratton comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Stratton winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
