Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Manuel Paquiao!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 13 - 1, fighting out of New York, Lars Thunstrom!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, John Kavanagh and John Roberts.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thunstrom throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Paquiao lands a jab to the head.
Paquiao lands a jab to Thunstrom's midsection.
Paquiao throws the left hand but Thunstrom avoids the punch easily.
Lars Thunstrom seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Paquiao avoids the body shot from Thunstrom.
Thunstrom misses with a jab, cross combination.
Thunstrom throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Paquiao's waist but Paquiao gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Thunstrom off to one side.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Thunstrom is defended easily by Paquiao.

Paquiao slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Paquiao really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Thunstrom tries to pull guard but Paquiao forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Manuel Paquiao has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lars Thunstrom.
Paquiao is looking to break free of the clinch but Thunstrom has double underhooks.

Thunstrom drags the fight down to the ground.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Thunstrom is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Paquiao defends well.
Paquiao has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Thunstrom is proving hard to escape from.

We're going to have a standup here because Manuel Paquiao wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
The fight stays on the outside here - Thunstrom looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Paquiao lands with a hook. Thunstrom tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Paquiao is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Thunstrom shoots in and drives through. Paquiao sprawls well.
Thunstrom ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Paquiao moves away.

Thunstrom shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Paquiao pinned against the cage. Paquiao gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Thunstrom dives in and scores a takedown into Paquiao's guard.

Paquiao wriggles free and stands up.

Thunstrom uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Paquiao.
Paquiao throws a hook to the side of Thunstrom's head but Thunstrom sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Thunstrom closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Thunstrom tries to pull guard but Paquiao won't allow it.
Thunstrom is trying to pull guard but Paquiao turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Thunstrom tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Paquiao smiles and moves away.
Thunstrom misses with an uppercut.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Thunstrom throws a series of punches but Paquiao moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Lars Thunstrom will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Paquiao throws a jab but it's blocked by Thunstrom.
Thunstrom ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Paquiao moves away.
Thunstrom tries for a takedown but Paquiao sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Paquiao lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Thunstrom at a distance.
Thunstrom moves away from the strike by Paquiao.
Thunstrom swings for the body but Paquiao moves out of range.
No luck for Thunstrom with that takedown attempt.
Thunstrom thuds his right hand into Paquiao's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Paquiao just misses with a punch to the body.
Thunstrom tries for a takedown but Paquiao sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Thunstrom is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Paquiao rather than just go for the knockout.
Thunstrom uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Paquiao.
Thunstrom looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

A punch lands to the side of Thunstrom 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Paquiao throws a jab when Thunstrom was well out of range.
Thunstrom scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Thunstrom takes a swing at Paquiao's ribcage but misses.
Paquiao's corner calls for a 1-2. Paquiao obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Paquiao lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Thunstrom closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Paquiao's guard.
Paquiao can't keep his opponent in guard - Thunstrom advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Paquiao tries to roll over but Thunstrom keeps him under control.

Thunstrom seems to be looking for submissions.

Paquiao wants to improve his position but Thunstrom is controlling well.

Paquiao manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Paquiao stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Thunstrom's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Thunstrom duly obliges.

Thunstrom closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Paquiao to the mat! Paquiao manages to get full guard.

Thunstrom drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Thunstrom seems to have locked his on tight now - Paquiao screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Thunstrom, as he picks up the win!

A relieved looking Lars Thunstrom thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
