Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Clarck Murrie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergio Chavez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Sergio Chavez enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Clarck Murrie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sergio Chavez!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Russell Pearce and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Murrie gets tackled into the cage by Chavez. Chavez maintains the clinch.
Murrie looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Chavez decides to pull guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chavez controls Murrie momentarily but Murrie frees himself.
Chavez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Murrie might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Chavez is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Chavez seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Murrie does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Clarck Murrie just wasn't active enough.

Murrie closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Murrie has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Chavez is working away from the top position though.

Sergio Chavez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Chavez is pressed up against the cage. Murrie has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Chavez down to the mat. Chavez avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Murrie tries to bum rush Chavez with a series of wild strikes but Chavez uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Chavez shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Chavez showed some decent athleticism there.
Murrie wants to control but Chavez is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Chavez is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Clarck Murrie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sergio Chavez.
