PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pat Boogie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Patton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pat Boogie!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Patton!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boogie tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Boogie lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Patton backs up against the cage.


It looks like Jason Patton has been cut.
Boogie is looking to clinch but Patton is avoiding it.
Boogie closes the distance but Patton moves to the side

and Patton counters with a single leg into guard. Boogie didn't expect that.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Patton content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Patton postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Patton throws a strike but Boogie rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Patton can do anything to dispel that myth.

Boogie postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Patton is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Boogie, into his guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Patton in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Boogie wants to stand and escape but Patton is having none of it.
Patton postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Patton accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Patton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Boogie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Pat Boogie wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Boogie will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

and Patton counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Boogie looking for a guillotine here but Patton defends easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Patton slips nicely into half guard.
Boogie is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Patton looks to land a strike but Boogie avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Boogie scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Patton defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Boogie.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pat Boogie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Boogie tries to clinch up but Patton circles away and keeps his distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Patton drops Boogie with a huge uppercut! Boogie drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Patton is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jason Patton!
