Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Tomas Sigurdson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Lyndon Johnson! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Colin Fotheringham and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Sigurdson takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Sigurdson is looking to reverse the position. Sigurdson is working hard here to advance position. Sigurdson gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Nice strikes from Johnson there. Sigurdson is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Johnson pulls his head out easily. Johnson wants to take a breather but Sigurdson is having none of it. Johnson prevents Sigurdson from improving his position. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Sigurdson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Johnson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Sigurdson has momentary wrist control but Johnson slips an elbow through the middle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sigurdson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Sigurdson wants to sweep here but Johnson controlling him for the moment. Johnson looking to sit in guard and control but Sigurdson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Johnson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Johnson landing strikes from the mount. Sigurdson wants to hold on but Johnson pushes him away. Sigurdson really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Johnson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Sigurdson can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sigurdson is wriggling around trying to escape.
Sigurdson tries to hold on but Johnson pushes him away. Johnson pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Johnson controlling the pace for now. Johnson prevents Sigurdson from getting the reversal. Johnson unloading with bombs! Johnson fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Sigurdson is rocked! The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Sigurdson working to try and regain half guard.
Sigurdson is breathing heavily. Johnson is in the full mount, landing strikes. Oh Sigurdson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson lands a big shot to the head and Sigurdson winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
