Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peter Kings (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Bruce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peter Kings!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Bruce!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bruce clinches.
Kings could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Bruce jumps guard and drags Kings to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Kings throws a big elbow that misses.
Kings trying to control but Bruce is working from the bottom.
Bruce wants to sweep here but Kings controlling him for the moment.
Kings trying to control the position from guard on top but Bruce is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bruce is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Bruce looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

We're going to have a standup here because Peter Kings wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Bruce gets a double leg takedown into Kings's guard.
Kings working a defensive guard here.

Kings is looking for a triangle but Bruce pushes his legs off easily.

Bruce slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Kings is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Bruce keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Bruce is trying to get back to full guard.

Kings wants to control but Bruce is keeping him busy.
Bruce holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Kings is looking to stall here but Bruce recovers full guard.
Kings wants to control from the top but Bruce keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mike Bruce was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Bruce shoots in and gets a takedown into Kings's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kings trying to keep a closed guard but Bruce is proving a slippery customer.

Bruce slips nicely into half guard.
Bruce frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Bruce takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Kings sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Bruce tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Kings.
Bruce slips a nice elbow through Kings's hands, connecting with Kings's forehead.
Bruce is controlling the pace.
Bruce prevents Kings from improving his position.

The fighters are battling for position here. Kings manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Bruce pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kings is keeping the position for now.
Bruce advances to half guard.
Kings is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kings trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Bruce manages to pass to mount!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bruce controlling from mount.
Kings tries to reverse the position but Bruce maintains control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mike Bruce dominated that round.
That's time! Kings's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Kings throws a sloppy head kick and Bruce moves out of range easily.

and Bruce counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Kings jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bruce walks away with a smile on his face. Kings gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Bruce shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kings is trying to defend but Bruce finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Bruce perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Bruce looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Bruce looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Kings is looking to control Bruce's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kings avoid being mounted?

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Bruce takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Bruce throws a head kick that Kings semi-blocks.


It looks like Peter Kings has been cut.
Peter Kings is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Bruce throws a quick inside leg kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bruce decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Bruce decides to stand and escape the position.

Kings gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Bruce showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

Bruce slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Mike Bruce has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Bruce gets a double leg takedown into Kings's guard.
Bruce works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Mike Bruce has got the better of the ground game so far.
Bruce with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Kings is looking to escape.
Bruce perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mike Bruce was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Kings slaps away a takedown attempt from Bruce, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Bruce fails with the takedown.
Bruce scoring well with a low kick there.

Bruce shoots in looking for a takedown but Kings manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bruce's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Peter Kings has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Bruce.
Nice takedown defense from Kings. No joy for Bruce on that attempt.

Kings shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Bruce moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Mike Bruce showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Peter Kings's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Kings shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bruce but Bruce pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Kings tries to clinch up.
Kings tries for a takedown but Bruce sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Kings fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Peter Kings. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bruce closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kings circles away.
Bruce connects with a high kick.

Bruce shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Well, if Bruce is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Bruce takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Kings is looking to improve his position.

Bruce stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Kings shoots in for a takedown but Bruce shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

A punch lands to the side of Kings 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Bruce darts in and clinches Kings up against the cage.

Bruce breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kings shoots in for a double leg but Bruce sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Kings gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Bruce to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bruce's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Bruce distracts Kings with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Bruce slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Check out the look on Bruce's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!


Peter Kings's cut is getting worse.
Bruce controlling the position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Mike Bruce hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Bruce darts in and clinches Kings up against the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bruce can't get the takedown.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Bruce.
Peter Kings has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Mike Bruce is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Kings misses with a short punch on the inside.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mike Bruce comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Bruce has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
