Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Franirc Balorca!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Christopher Seamon!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Seamon moves into the clinch.

Balorca gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Seamon on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Seamon is staying active underneath Balorca, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Seamon won't allow Balorca to pass to mount.
Balorca blocks the strikes from Seamon.

Balorca looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Balorca is keen to just control but Seamon is a slippery customer.
Seamon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Balorca. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Seamon tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Seamon moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Balorca trying to control the position from guard on top but Seamon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Balorca in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Balorca with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Balorca accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Seamon wants to sweep but no luck.
Seamon wants to stand but Balorca is controlling the position.

Seamon is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Balorca trying to control but Seamon is working from the bottom.

Balorca is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Seamon is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Seamon has escaped and now he's on top!

Seamon got a little sloppy there for a moment and Balorca has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Seamon has managed to get both his arms back between Balorca's legs - danger averted.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Seamon stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Balorca throws up his legs and catches Seamon in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Seamon tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Balorca! That came out of nowhere!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Franirc Balorca!
