Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vasara Hai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Vasara Hai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Randy West!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Arvi Lind and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hai misses the jab.
West uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hai.
West throws out a loose jab but Hai uses good head movement to avoid it.
Hai fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
West lands a nice leg kick that just misses Hai's sensitive parts.
Some wild striking there from West.
Hai looks to score with a jab to the body but West is just out of range.
West scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
West stalks Hai and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Hai's face. Hai staggers backwards, shaken.
West fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Hai is out of range.

West gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as West holds on and takes a little breather.
Hai missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
West is trying to control the position but Hai postures up.
Hai keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of West's head.
West controls Hai momentarily but Hai frees himself.
Hai is stalling in the full guard.
Hai trying to control the position from guard on top but West is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hai tries to free his leg and advance position but West is retaining full guard.
Hai postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Randy West was stalling too much, according to the referee.
West scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Hai jabs at West's body.
Hai throws a body punch but West moves out of range.
Hai looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Sloppy strikes from Hai. Those never looked like landing.
West scores with a body shot.
Hai misses with a body shot
and West connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
West cracks Hai with a right hand to the side of the head.
Hai is looking to wear down West with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
West misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hai misses with a hook. West ducked under it nicely.
Hai misses with an uppercut. West saw that one coming.
Hai steps to the side to avoid the strikes from West.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hai blocks the body kick.
West lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
West slips a jab from Hai.
Hai takes a swing at West's ribcage but misses.
Hai swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
A slapping body kick lands there for West.
Vasara Hai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
West pivots, looking for a leg kick but Hai is out of range and West settles back down.
Hai dodges the punch combination from West.
Sloppy strikes from Hai. Those never looked like landing.
Hai shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. West defends it nicely.
Danga de danga de dang - West scores with a four punch combination!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
West moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
West throws a looping overhand right but Hai ducks down to avoid it.
Hai missing with a left hand there. West was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Hai on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by West. West obviously looking to wear him down.
West is looking to chop away at Hai's legs.
Jab, jab by Hai - just one landing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
West misses with an uppercut
and Hai counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Hai displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as West throws out the jab.
Hai cracks West with an open hand slap.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hai throws an uppercut from half a mile away. West sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Left hook, right uppercut from Hai.
Hai throws a nice looking combination but West bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Hai misses with a series of wild punches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Randy West will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


West ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Hai misses with a straight left.
Hai moves out of range of the body kick from West.
West scores with a nice right hand.
Hai fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches West on the side of the head.
West fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Jab, jab by West - just one landing.
Hai shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. West defends it nicely.
West moves away from the strike by Hai.
A good leg kick by West.
West blocks a jab.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hai missing with a left hand there. West was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Hai shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with West but West pushes him off and we're back to square one.
West keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hai.
West looks to land a combination. Hai sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
West throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hai. West does a little dance to reset his feet.
Hai throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around West's waist but West gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hai off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vasara Hai. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hai tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Hai gets a takedown into half guard.

Hai looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Hai wants to free his trapped foot but West is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Hai missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
West keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

West tries to get to full guard but Hai has control of the leg.
Hai throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Hai working West over with strikes.
Hai is trying to control. West wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Hai is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and West defends it well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hai is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Hai landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Hai passes to side control.
Vasara Hai overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hai misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Hai has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hai lands an elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vasara Hai dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


West lands with an uppercut that bounces Hai off the cage and back into range.
Hai throws a hook but West avoids it easily.
Hai ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
West keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hai.
West avoids the body shot from Hai.
Hai misses with a hook.
Hai throws a right hand that West ducks under and follows up with a left that West also avoids with ease.
Hai ducks right into an uppercut from West.
West slips a straight right by Hai.
Hai tries to score a power double leg takedown but West sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hai somewhat.

Hai drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Hai looking to sit in guard and control but West gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hai manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Hai cracks West with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Hai looking to control but West is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Hai throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for West because Hai loaded up on that one.
West wants to control but Hai is having none of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Poor strikes thrown by Hai there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Hai tries to control but West wriggling away.
West is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
West gets back to half guard.
Hai passes to full mount!
Hai lands with some strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
West tries to hold on but Hai pushes him away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hai looking to control and managing it successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
West slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
West wants to improve his position but Hai is controlling well.
West is trying to maintain the position but Hai is very close to passing his half guard.
Hai is pressing down on West's thigh, looking to free his foot. West is holding on for now.
West has hold of Hai's hands but Hai slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hai looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Hai wants to lay and pray for a moment but West keeps working.
Hai seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Hai landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
West wants to control but Hai is keeping busy.

And that's the end of the fight!
Vasara Hai showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Hai has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A less than humble Vasara Hai misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
