Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bj Becks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cory Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Metallica - Enter Sandman. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cory Smith!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Becks tries for a takedown but Smith circles away easily
and Becks takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Becks shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Smith sprawls well. Smith wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Becks gets slowly back to his feet.
Becks tries to close the distance and clinch up but Smith swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Becks tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Smith manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Becks tries to clinch but Smith moves out of range.

Smith has closed the distance and engaged Becks in a clinch.
Becks is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Smith is defending well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bj Becks. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Smith trying to stall but Becks improves his position.
Becks prevents a takedown attempt there.

Smith breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Smith throws a right and a left that Becks avoids nicely.
Becks wants to clinch

and Smith holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Becks is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Smith is defending well for now.

Smith breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Smith catches Becks with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Smith closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Becks tries to keep at a distance but Smith has taken the fight into the clinch.

Becks jumps guard and drags Smith to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Becks wants to sweep but no luck.
Becks is pulling down on Smith's head. It's preventing any offense from Smith, at least for the moment.
Smith throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Becks works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Smith in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Becks looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Smith turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
