Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kyle Gillean! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kazuho Senda! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gillean tries to clinch up. Gillean could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Senda fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Gillean sprawls well initially but Senda persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Gillean is looking for a sweep. Senda is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Gillean is staying active underneath Senda, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Gillean is defending against the submission attempts here by Senda.
Gillean is looking to control Senda's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gillean avoid being mounted? Gillean slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Senda really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gillean. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Gillean is trying to keep Senda in close.
Senda wants to stand but Gillean has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gillean is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Gillean keeping moving, preventing Senda from controlling successfully. Senda tries to free his leg and advance position but Gillean is retaining full guard. Gillean working a defensive guard here.
Gillean manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Senda manages to get himself to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Senda working a defensive guard but Gillean passes into half guard.
Gillean is trying to control. Senda wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Senda trying to hold on to Gillean's head to control him but Gillean postures up.
Gillean tries to pass the half guard into mount. Senda knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Gillean seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Senda is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
