PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between For Win (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Blade Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Win comes to the cage accompanied by Miles Davis - Freddie freeloader. Jackson has chosen Guru Josh Project - Infinity as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that For Win has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily For Win seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, For Win!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Blade Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Win keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Win gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Jackson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Jackson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Win manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jackson manages to get himself to full guard.

Jackson throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Win escapes and throws Jackson's legs to the side, diving into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Win thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Win is looking to take a break and control but Jackson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Win tries to pass the half guard into mount. Jackson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Win wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jackson keeps working.

Win is looking for a kimura here.
Jackson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Win is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Jackson!
Win trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Win is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Jackson is surviving well by controlling Win's body position as best he can.
Jackson wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Win is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Jackson has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Win biding his time, controlling Jackson.

Win shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Win slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Win slips nicely into half guard.
Jackson is not content to let Win control the position.
Jackson wants to get back to full guard.
Win tries to pass to full mount but Jackson defends it.
Jackson is breathing heavily.

Win seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jackson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee stands the fighters back up. For Win just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Win has his takedown stuffed

and Jackson counters with a shoot takedown. Win fights it but they end up in guard.
Jackson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Win pulls Jackson in to control the position.
Jackson slips nicely into half guard.

Jackson is tying to control. Win wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Jackson seems to be working for a kimura but Win defends the submission attempt.
Win has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jackson is working away from the top position though.
Jackson keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Jackson lands with a punch from half guard.
Win is controlling Jackson's trapped leg to prevent Jackson from advancing to side control.
Jackson is looking to advance position but Win won't allow it.

Win avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Jackson.

A close second round but Blade Jackson will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Win wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.
Win might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Jackson is looking for a triangle here but Win uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
For Win overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Win is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jackson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Jackson manages to work his way to half guard, despite Win's best efforts.

Jackson is looking for a sweep. Win is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Jackson is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Win pulls his head out easily.

Jackson is refusing to be controlled, as Win sits in half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jackson jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Win shoots in and drives through. Jackson sprawls well.
Jackson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Win manages to avoid it.
Win tries for a takedown but Jackson circles away easily

and Jackson counters with a single leg into guard. Win didn't expect that.
Jackson trying to control the position from guard on top but Win is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jackson wants to pass the guard but Win is keeping the position.

Jackson is pushing down on Win's leg trying to pass to half guard. Win is fighting to maintain full guard but Jackson has managed to sneak the leg through.

Jackson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Win is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jackson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jackson's back!
Jackson really must keep his cool here. He's controlling one of Win's hands and whilst he does that, he's got a chance of escaping the position.

Blade Jackson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Jackson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
