PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dawid Kurdziel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rogers has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. The key to victory for Dawid Kurdziel has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kurdziel tries a head kick but it misses.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kurdziel looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Kurdziel gets caught flat footed, as Rogers shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Kurdziel will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Kurdziel wants to stand and escape but Rogers is having none of it.
Kurdziel utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rogers got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kurdziel has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rogers has managed to get both his arms back between Kurdziel's legs - danger averted.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Rogers fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Kurdziel to the ground. Rogers is now in Kurdziel's guard.

Kurdziel can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rogers controls the pace.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Kurdziel.
Kurdziel throws a push kick but Rogers slaps the foot to one side.

Kurdziel changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rogers tries to avoid it but Kurdziel manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rogers to the ground. Rogers escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Kurdziel shoots for a double leg takedown but Rogers sprawls well. He's pushed Kurdziel's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Horrible takedown by Kurdziel or perhaps it was just good defense by Rogers which made him look bad.

Mark Rogers showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

The referee asks Rogers politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Rogers prefers to stall for the moment though.
