Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Erick Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Warner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Erick Murphy has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Erick Murphy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jay Warner!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Matti Vanhoillinen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murphy throws a series of punches but Warner avoids them all with ease.
Nice takedown defense from Murphy. No joy for Warner on that attempt.
A looping hook to the body misses from Murphy. Warner does a little dance to reset his feet.
A punch lands to the side of Warner 's head but he takes it in his stride.


It looks like Jay Warner has been cut.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Warner.
Warner sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Murphy is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Warner slips a nice elbow through Murphy's hands, connecting with Murphy's forehead.

Murphy pushes Warner off looking to stand but Warner dives back in and keeps control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Warner uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Murphy.
Murphy fails to land with a series of punches.
A combination from Murphy does no damage.
Horrible takedown by Warner or perhaps it was just good defense by Murphy which made him look bad.

Erick Murphy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Warner drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Murphy manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Warner has Murphy in his guard.

Warner is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Murphy defends well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Warner has his foot on Murphy's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Murphy works his way back into a safe position though.

Murphy stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Murphy wants it to stay on the feet.

Murphy drops Warner with a beautiful combination! Warner stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Murphy is looking for the KO!

Warner takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Warner tries to score a power double leg takedown but Murphy sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Warner somewhat.

Murphy feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Warner sprawling to the canvas! Warner rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Murphy finish him?!
