Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Izmailov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Damian Matsuo! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Daniel Cesar and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Matsuo scores with a sloppy right hand. Izmailov should have avoided that one. Matsuo throws a head kick but Izmailov moves out of range.
Izmailov shoots in and drives through. Matsuo sprawls well. Matsuo lunges at Izmailov with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Izmailov's hand. Izmailov blocks a head kick by Matsuo.
Matsuo getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Izmailov dodges the punch combination from Matsuo.
Damian Matsuo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Izmailov shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Izmailov scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Izmailov fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Izmailov landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Matsuo is trying to control Izmailov's posture but Izmailov avoids it. Izmailov working the head and body with strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Matsuo is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Izmailov working away. Izmailov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Matsuo is trying to get back to half guard. Check out the look on Izmailov's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Izmailov in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Matsuo takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Izmailov working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Izmailov lands some shots froms side control.

Matsuo is rocked! Izmailov landing strikes. Matsuo is still in real trouble! Can Izmailov finish him? Izmailov cracks Matsuo with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Izmailov immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Matsuo is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Izmailov!
