Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Holden James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dai Vernon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James comes to the cage accompanied by Aerials. Vernon has chosen Ari Gold - Let's Hug It Out, BITCH as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
20 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Holden James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
21 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dai Vernon!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Seu Braga and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James misses with a head kick.
Vernon instigates a clinch.
James lands an elbow inside.
Vernon tries to work over James's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
James blocks an uppercut.
Vernon on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
James looks to throw an elbow but misses.
James pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
James tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Vernon manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Some bone on bone action there as James checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Vernon feints and then cracks James's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow James down.
Vernon throws a combination but it was largely blocked by James.
James throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Vernon's head.
James uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Vernon.
James takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Vernon ducks down and throws a hook to the body but James moves away.
Vernon fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt James.

Vernon has taken the fight to the clinch.
James throws a punch but it's blocked by Vernon.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Vernon creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

James cracks Vernon with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Vernon looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can James finish him?

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Vernon, as that shot connected.

Vernon lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
James lands a big head kick that sends Vernon tumbling to the mat! James takes a step backwards and waves Vernon back to his feet - he wants the finish!
James moves into range and clinches up with Vernon.
Vernon lands a hook that snaps the head of James backwards.
Vernon misses with a short punch on the inside.
James breaks from the clinch.

Vernon throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

James throws a nice looking combination but Vernon bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
James misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Vernon throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
James explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That was a close round but I would say that Holden James will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
