Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Edson Gomes and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Machida misses.
Machida loads up on a big right hand but Emerson slips the punch.
Machida misses with a few strikes there.
No joy there for Machida, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Emerson keeps the fight on the outside.
Emerson is looking to clinch but Machida is avoiding it.
Emerson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Machida's waist but Machida gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Emerson off to one side.
Emerson gets a takedown into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Machida trying to hold on to Emerson's head to control him but Emerson postures up.
Machida wants to get back to his feet.
Machida is trying to get back to full guard.
Emerson is taking a breather. Machida says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Emerson takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Emerson stops Machida from getting back to his feet.
Emerson thows a huge punch but Machida dodges it nicely.
Emerson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Machida. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Emerson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Machida won't allow Emerson to pass to mount.
Machida looks like he's trying to stand up.
Machida is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Emerson pulls his head out easily.

Machida has his feet on Emerson's thighs here. He's pushed Emerson off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Emerson screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
