Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Stephen McLain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christopher Eriksson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Christopher Eriksson!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Roosa Järviläinen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eriksson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around McLain's waist but McLain gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Eriksson off to one side.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Eriksson is defended easily by McLain.
McLain cracks Eriksson with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Eriksson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Stephen McLain has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Christopher Eriksson.
McLain is looking to slow Eriksson down with leg kicks.
Eriksson tries to score a power double leg takedown but McLain sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Eriksson somewhat.

Eriksson shoots in looking for a takedown. McLain tries to sprawl out of it but Eriksson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McLain manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

McLain bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Eriksson's guard.

Eriksson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Stephen McLain will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

McLain takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Eriksson is not content to let McLain control the position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with McLain in particular looking to stall.

We're going to have a standup here because Stephen McLain wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

McLain feints and then cracks Eriksson's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Eriksson down.
Eriksson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has McLain pinned against the cage. McLain gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

McLain connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Eriksson looks for a takedown but McLain sprawls well.

McLain lands a big head kick that sends Eriksson tumbling to the mat! McLain takes a step backwards and waves Eriksson back to his feet - he wants the finish!

McLain thows a body shot but no joy.
Eriksson is still on wobbly legs! Can McLain finish him?
Eriksson fails with a takedown attempt.
Eriksson seems to have recovered his senses.
McLain circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Eriksson drops to the canvas, hurt badly! McLain follows Eriksson to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
