PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adonis Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva comes to the cage accompanied by Who Let the Dogs Out. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 16 - 1, fighting out of New York, Adonis Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Coleman!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Silva.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Silva is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Coleman will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Coleman is looking for a sweep.
Coleman parries the strikes from Silva easily there. Silva is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Coleman to escape.

Coleman is looking for a sweep. Silva is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Coleman is staying active underneath Silva, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Silva is really struggling to control Coleman but he's trying to hold on to the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We're going to have a standup here because Adonis Silva wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Coleman displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Silva throws out the jab.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Silva shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Coleman is trying to defend but Silva finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Adonis Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Coleman.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Coleman closes the distance and clinches up with Silva, looking for a takedown. Coleman pushes Silva against the cage but Silva circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Silva stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Coleman looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

and Silva counters with a stiff right hand.
Coleman takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Coleman is breathing heavily.
Coleman gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Silva.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

and Silva connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.


It looks like Mark Coleman has been cut.

Silva darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Silva looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Silva is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Silva is just content to waste time from the top position. Coleman takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Silva accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Silva stands up over Coleman, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Silva wants to control from the top but Coleman keeps moving.

Coleman is trying to keep Silva in close.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Silva jabs Coleman right on the nose. Coleman blinks but takes it well.
Coleman is trying desperately to land a takedown but Silva is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Coleman.

Coleman misses with a takedown
and Silva cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Silva connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Coleman's hands.

Silva lands with a straight right. Coleman didn't see that one coming.
Coleman has his takedown stuffed
and Silva counters with a hugh head kick that removes Coleman from consiousness! A brutal head kick knockout!
