Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Grant Benton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Knox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Knox comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The Exploited- Beat The Bastards kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Grant Benton has the better chin. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Grant Benton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Johnny Knox! The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Knox throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Benton takes the fight into the clinch. Benton lands an uppercut. Knox is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Knox throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Benton blocks the elbow strike.
A short left from Benton. Benton is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Knox prevents Benton from breaking the clinch. Knox trying to stall but Benton improves his position.
Benton wants to break the clinch but can't.
A frustrated look appears on Benton's face as he tries to break the clinch. Benton misses with some punches.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Knox. Benton lands on the inside with an uppercut. Benton has had enough of the clinch but Knox keeps him there for the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Knox blocks a body shot from Benton. A short right hand to the side of the head by Benton. Benton lands with a short head shot on the inside. Knox with an attempt at a knee that misses.

Benton lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Knox is still on wobbly legs! Can Benton finish him? Benton throws a head punch that misses. Benton swings wildly with an uppercut but Knox uses good head movement to avoid it. Benton doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
The referee is keeping an eye on Benton - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Benton tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Benton working aggressively here.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Benton. Knox blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Benton swings away with an uppercut that misses.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Benton throws a punch but it's blocked by Knox. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Benton. Benton misses with some punches.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Benton. Benton throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Knoxs head. Benton lands a big right hand that drops Knox! The killer instinct kicks in and Benton finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Benton!
