Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Peter North!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bob Parker!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Luis Engracia and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parker misses with a low kick.
Parker looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Parker throws a half hearted mid kick.
Parker avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
North throws a body punch but Parker moves out of range.

Parker manages to get an easy takedown there - catching North on his heels. He'll look to pass North's guard now, I'm sure.
Parker is working North over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Parker makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

North is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Bob Parker hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
North drops his hands momentarily and Parker takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
North throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Parker shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts North as he jumps to the side.
North scoring well with a low kick there.
North dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Parker bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Parker does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Parker gets the takedown into side control.
The referee asks Parker politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Parker prefers to stall for the moment though.
North is looking to regain half guard here but Parker keeps moving and retains side control.
North is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Parker has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Parker fails to land a wild elbow strike.
North knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Parker on the ground.

Parker is looking to take a break and control but North is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

North managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Parker.
North is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Parker looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Parker takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
North wants to control but Parker is keeping busy.

Parker seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Parker thows a huge punch but North dodges it nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Parker dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Parker uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before North has time to react.

North misses with a low kick.
North thows a body shot but no joy.
Parker throws a body kick that misses.

Parker fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. North sprawls well initially but Parker persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Parker seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Parker works his way into side control.
North is trying to improve his position.
Parker throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Parker tries to move to mount but North blocks the move with his legs.
Parker working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Parker lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Parker throws an elbow but North slips to the side and avoids it well.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Parker advances nicely into full mount.
Parker looking to control but North is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Parker connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Parker with shots to the head and body - North looks very uncomfortable down there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Parker postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. North looks a forlorn figure.

Parker is landing with some decent strikes but North is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

North is bucking up trying to escape but Parker cracks him with another couple of good strikes.


North is rocked!
Parker is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and North goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Parker!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Bob Parker!
