0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Henrik Balter! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paulsen Ambrosius and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Balter swats away the attempt to clinch by Mcclaren. Balter looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Balter misses with a body kick. No luck with that takedown attempt from Balter. Mcclaren is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Balter throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mcclaren. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Balter lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mcclaren circles away quickly and effectively. Mcclaren tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Mcclaren defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Balter. Balter misses with a low kick. Mcclaren gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Balter is trying to break the clinch but Mcclaren has him pressed against the cage. Mcclaren breaks the clinch.

Mcclaren could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Balter is defended easily by Mcclaren. Mcclaren is looking to take this fight into the clinch. A combination from Balter does no damage. Balter tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mcclaren swivels and escapes. Balter looks to land a combination. Mcclaren sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Mcclaren is looking to clinch but Balter is avoiding it.

This has been an exciting period of action! Balter keeps control of Mcclaren as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Mcclaren pushes Balter up against the cage in a clinch. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Mcclaren as Balter tries to tie him up. Mcclaren breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Mcclaren doesn't manage to clinch there - Balter circles away.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Mcclaren throws a solid leg kick but Balter takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Mcclaren. Mcclaren tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Balter manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Mcclaren has Balter up against the cage in a clinch.

Mcclaren pulls guard effortlessly. Mcclaren is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Mcclaren is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mcclaren prevents Balter from improving his position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
We're going to have a standup here because Kevin Mcclaren wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Mcclaren stuffs the takedown attempt from Balter. Balter gets slowly back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Kevin Mcclaren will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Henrik Balter seems to be getting the better of the standup. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Mcclaren. Balter leaves Mcclaren with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Balter misses with a body kick. Mcclaren moves out of range of the body kick from Balter.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mcclaren breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Balter shoots in and drives through. Mcclaren sprawls well. Mcclaren looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Balter takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Mcclaren wants to stand up but Balter has a hold of him and won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mcclaren is taking a breather. Balter says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

And that's the end of the fight! Kevin Mcclaren showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mcclaren, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
