Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ilian Mladenov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mertsi Peltola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Ilian Mladenov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mertsi Peltola! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some bone on bone action there as Peltola checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Peltola ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Mladenov connects with a solid leg kick. Peltola drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Peltola controls the position. Mladenov is trying to control Peltola's posture but Peltola avoids it. Mladenov is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Peltola cracks Mladenov with a big right hand but Mladenov just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peltola works to advance to full mount. Mladenov defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Peltola controlling from mount. Mladenov is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Peltola controlling his opponent. Peltola lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Peltola looking to control and managing it successfully. Peltola lands a heavy elbow.
It looks like Ilian Mladenov has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Poor strikes thrown by Peltola there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Peltola takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Peltola unloading with bombs!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mladenov tries to lock up and control but Peltola gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Peltola tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Mladenov is looking to get to half guard. Mladenov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Peltola on the ground. Peltola content just to control the position here. It looks like Peltola might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Peltola has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee warns Mladenov that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Mladenov scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Mladenov throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Mladenov uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Peltola. That's one minute gone in the round. Peltola fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mladenov sprawls well initially but Peltola persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Peltola takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Peltola prevents Mladenov from standing back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Mladenov is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Mertsi Peltola has got the better of the ground game so far. Peltola is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Mladenov can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

A left lands for Peltola. Mladenov throws a nice outside leg kick. Mladenov is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Peltola checks the leg kick nicely there.
Peltola throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Peltola blocks a low kick nicely. Peltola thows a left - swing and a miss! Mladenov is looking to chop away at Peltola's legs. Peltola avoids the body shot from Mladenov.

That's one minute gone in the round. Peltola connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Peltola throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Ilian Mladenov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Mladenov moves in looking to clinch but Peltola pushes him off. Mladenov swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Peltola. Ilian Mladenov is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Peltola checks a leg kick. Mladenov gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Peltola. Mladenov pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Peltola clinches. Mladenov is trying to break free. Peltola has Mladenov pressed against the cage, preventing Mladenov from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Peltola escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Mladenov takes a shot right to the bread basket. Peltola lands with a nice body punch. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Peltola closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mladenov's guard. Peltola has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Peltola slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Peltola passes into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Peltola is looking to advance position but Mladenov won't allow it. Peltola is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mertsi Peltola was stalling too much, according to the referee. Peltola shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mladenov manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Peltola looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Mertsi Peltola is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mladenov is looking for a triangle here but Peltola uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
And that's the end of the fight! Mertsi Peltola comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Peltola has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
