PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kiyah Matsumoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee has chosen Fatboy Slim - Right Here Right Now as his entrance music. Dave Lee told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matsumoto tries to clinch but Lee moves out of range.
Matsumoto misses the shot to the body.
Matsumoto is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lee sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Matsumoto fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lee manages to avoid it.

Matsumoto wants the takedown. Lee is fighting it off but Matsumoto persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Lee's guard against the cage.
Lee has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Matsumoto looking to sit in guard and control but Lee gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Matsumoto has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lee can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Matsumoto shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Lee counters with a single leg into guard. Matsumoto didn't expect that.
Lee wants to control from the top but Matsumoto keeps moving.
Lee is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Matsumoto wants to sweep but no luck.
