Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kaike Tristan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Malik Larkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Malik Larkin told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kaike Tristan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Malik Larkin!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Larkin drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Larkin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tristan keeps working.
Larkin tries to advance to mount but Tristan denies him.
Tristan is trying to get back to half guard.
Tristan is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Tristan missing with punches from the bottom.
Larkin is thwarting Tristan's attempts to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Larkin is pressing down on Tristan's thigh, looking to free his foot. Tristan is holding on for now.

Tristan is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Larkin pulls his head out easily.
Larkin wants to take a breather but Tristan is having none of it.
Tristan tries to get to full guard but Larkin has control of the leg.
Larkin looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Tristan holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well, if Larkin is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Tristan won't allow Larkin to pass to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Malik Larkin was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Tristan gets the takedown into side control.
Tristan gets to mount! Larkin was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Larkin wants to control but Tristan is having none of it.
Tristan takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Tristan working away from the top, dropping strikes.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Tristan lands with some strikes.

Larkin defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Tristan.

Larkin has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Tristan lands with a hammerfist to the side of Larkin's head.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Tristan has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Tristan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Larkin trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tristan softening up his opponent with strikes here.
Larkin wants to get back to his feet.

Tristan has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Larkin is in real trouble here. Tristan gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Larkin is tapping out! Tristan wins by rear naked choke!
