PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Papy Mudada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mudada comes into the arena with Shatner Of The Mount by Fall On Your Sword blaring out of the sound system. Emelianenko has chosen Beethoven's Funeral March as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ivan Emelianenko!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Ackerman and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mudada has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Emelianenko can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd cheers as Mudada lands an impressive looking overhand right. Emelianenko doesn't seem phased though.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Papy Mudada.

and Mudada counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Emelianenko shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mudada manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That's time! Mudada's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Mudada's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

We're going to have a standup here because Papy Mudada wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Mudada here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Papy Mudada.
I think Mudada has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
